In 2006, scientists were monitoring the weight loss on 100 overweight people. What they did was give 1/2 of the people either a glass of grapefruit juice or 1.2 a grapefruit before each meal. What was found was that the overweight people who were taking in the grapefruit lost 3.5kgs over 12 weeks where the others only lost 1/2 kg.

Even though it was never scientifically proven and more research needs to be done in to the effects of weight loss by eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice, eating or drinking grapefruit juice seemed to help.
